On Track for the
Future Project

The On Track for the Future
Project was made possible by the ICET - Teaching & Learning
Capital Funding received.
On Track Training &
Employment is a department of Future Employment Opportunities Inc
and provides vocational training, employment assistance and
enterprise activities and is located at the Eaglehawk Railway
Station.
The funding received has
enabled the renovation of two extra portable classrooms for the
delivery of extra courses on top of those already being delivered.
Modifications to existing buildings to give more room for expanding
staff needs.
Works have commenced on this project with the
two new portables being placed and works on these
commencing.
    
November
2009
Electrical works at TradeStart and on new
trainng rooms is nearing completion, along with building
preparations on new training rooms.
    
December
2009
Preparations and building works are well under
way with some plastering completed ready for painting, Cooling
systems have been installed.
    
January
2010
Works continued over the Christmas period with
painting being completed in January, along with carpets being laid
throughout the site. With these works completed the new portables
were ready for use at the start of the year.
Preparation for the installation of the new
roof on Enhance has also commenced with scaffolding being
erected.

With a majority of the works
completed the premises have a fresh look along with the expansion
of area which can be used for more training courses and other
activities as required.
The roof at Enhance has been
completed allowing more light into the building and the new
insulation foil has helped with the temperature in the
building.
  
The installation of the computers
is nearing completion, some computers are up and running in the new
classrooms, which will assist students in their research required
for their chosen field.

The
upgrade of toilet facilites has been done due to the increase in
numbers of students in additional courses being offered.
TradeStart have taken delivery of tools and
equipment to assist in the metals manufacturing workshop, these
tools will enable the participants to become more familiar with the
tools of the trade with pracitical hands on experience, it also
increases to products that can now be manufactured.
 
March 2010
Security sensors have been installed in new training rooms and
offices. Heating & cooling upgraded in trainers room. All
external locks have been replaced for security and OH&S. The
installation of blinds in all areas has commenced.
  
April 2010
Works are close to
completion on this project. This period has seen exhaust ducting at
TradeStart manufactured and installed, asphalting of walkways and
the manufacture of a ramp to replace existing access
ramp.

May 2010
Installation of projectors and screens have
taken place during May in training rooms.
  
Ramp
to Goods Shed has now been completed. The ramp has also been used
as a training aid for the participants of the TradeStart
Program.
