Day 1 at the Portland Recycle Shop

FEO in partnership with the Glenelg Shire have begun a CRV in Portland, Victoria.The initial step was to  undertake a Feasibility Study on developing a Portland Recycle Shop and the second step was to write a business plan for its sustainability

The reports demonstrate a model where the participants who undertake the study actually operate the Recycle Shop in the long term. They learn how to run the business from day one. In May they averaged $87 per day and in June their income was at $111 per day. While it is small it will reach sustainability of employing part time employees working over seven days by the end of August.
